    Web Push: Exclude Unengaged Users

      Article Summary

Unless the users unsubscribe from web push notifications, there isn't a definitive way of knowing the actual reachability of subscribers. This means that the reachability of subscribers decreases in time if they do not visit the website for a long period.

      Engaged users vs. Unengaged users

Users who have visited your website or who have at least one web push click, view or close action in the last 6 months will be marked as “Engaged Subscribers”. Using the Exclude Unengaged Subscribers option, you can send your push notification only to these engaged users.

When you send notifications to these unengaged subscribers, the Clickthrough Rate (CTR) of the campaign decreases since these users will not interact with the web push notification.

Send your web push notifications to engaged users

Using the Exclude Unengaged Subscribers option, you can send your web push notifications to the engaged users to maintain more realistic Sent and CTR rates.

Exclude Unengaged Subscribers checkbox is clicked by default to optimize your campaigns by targeting the right subscriber base. You will see an information box on the right side of your screen that displays:

      • Number of engaged subscribers
      • Number of unengaged subscribers
      • Total subscribers

      your title goes here
If you do not exclude the unengaged subscribers, your single push notification will act the same and be sent to Total Subscribers.

Once you save this page by clicking the Launch button, you will be prompted a message that displays the number of subscribers.

Clicking the Launch button, you will send your web push notification to only engaged subscribers or total subscribers based on your selection.
