Internet Service Provider (ISP)-based Email Throttling

      Article Summary

ISP-based throttling enables you to control the number of emails that you send to different ISPs by a domain.

For example, you have a subscriber base of 1M+ subscribers and you send an email to these users. If all the recipients who receive the email click the links in the email at the same time, they all will land on your website at the same time. If you believe that this sudden traffic might cause an overloading on your system, a server slowdown or shortage, you might consider using ISP-based throttling.

      Enabling throttling for your account

      1. Navigate to Settings > Inone Settings > Email Settings.
      2. Enable email throttling and choose the option that you want to proceed with. The option you choose is applied to every email campaign.

      • Use ISP Default Limits: Limits the number of emails sent per hour based on the defined default throttling settings.
      • Use ISP Default Limits xxx emails per hour: Manages every email campaign based on the throttling limit that you set. The same throttling number is applied per ISP.
      • Set ISP Custom Limits: Enables the throttling for every campaign based on the limit per ISP. Each ISP has their own minimum and maximum limits. If you set a limit lower than the minimum or higher than the maximum, you will be prompted with a validation error.

If you do not enable email throttling for your account, you will see the following information on the launch step of your email campaign.
