    FAQ for Uninstall Analytics

      Article Summary

How do we track the users who have deleted the application?

Every night at 00:00, a ghost push notification is sent. Any ghost push that does not receive a response from Apple or Google is considered a lost user, and Insider registers that user's app as uninstalled.

Can I export uninstall users selecting multiple identifiers?

No, you can export users using only one identifier.

How do I receive the uninstall data when I export it?

The list of uninstalls will be sent as a file to the email of the panel user who made the request.

What could be the reason of a peak on a specific day in uninstall analytics?

There can be three reasons for such a peak:

      1. The campaigns that you sent on that day may have caused users to delete the application.
      2. The app may have crashed that day.
      3. Very rarely, technical issues result in us not delivering the uninstall numbers on their exact days. If the uninstalls are lower than the actual numbers when compared to those in the previous days, the system recognizes the uninstalls that should have been registered previously to the peak day in order not to lose any data. There is no loss of data but the missing uninstall numbers are compensated on the peak day.

Can we track the uninstall users who do not allow push notifications?

No, it is not possible to track the uninstall users who do not allow push notifications.

Do we need any additional integration for uninstall analytics?

No, there is no need for any additional integration. However, you need to activate the uninstall analytics on the panel. Please contact your Mobile Growth Manager to activate.

What could be the reason for seeing 0 uninstalls for iOS users?

Since the uninstall analytics is updated after delivering ghost push notifications to the users, there might be an issue with sending push notifications. Moreover, the push notification server state might be in development rather than production. In this case, the push notifications are not sent to the live application and user status won't be updated.

How is an uninstall user defined? Does it cover only the users who uninstall the app or also those who update?

When Insider SDK cannot be reached, these users are assigned an uninstall status. When they update their app, the SDK can be reached so these users are not counted as uninstall users.

Why do I see a peak in the number of uninstall users on the day I installed Uninstall Analytics?

Uninstall users can be detected only when push notifications are sent to them. Ghost push notifications are sent to detect these users. If you have not sent any push notifications for a while, Uninstall Analytics will tag the users when available. Therefore you might see a peak on the first day.
