    Social Proof Templates

      Article Summary

      Important Update for New Customers:

Please note that customers who have joined our platform after February, 2024 will not have access to non-responsive Social Proof templates. You can use responsive Social Proof templates instead.

Consumers today get interested and inspired by what peers say, do and purchase because they have a tendency to accept an action more appropriate if they see others also doing it. To turn this socio-psychological principle into purchasing event, Insider has Social Proof.

When you show your users how many others are visiting the same product at the same time, or the basket count number, you can encourage them to purchase it. If other users like it, they will also like it!

      How to create it

To create a Social Proof campaign,

      1. Navigate to Experience > Optimize > Web Templates

      2. Click the Create button. Name your campaign, and click the Next button.

      3. You will land on the Template Library. You can search for the template or find it under Increase Conversion Rate. You will see two different templates:

      • Inline Social Proof: With inline template, you can place your template anywhere on the page and also you can select an element to append on.
      • On-page Social Proof: Append the template anywhere you want in Product Detail page to increase Add-to-Cart and conversion rates.

      4. When you click on the template, you will see its default preview, description, and its elements. Click Use For {Platform} to proceed.

      5. You can enable/disable Image and Close Button toggles. You can customize the Style of the template and add Animations to make it appear/disappear attractively.

      6. If you have enabled the image element, you can customize it. You can choose one from the default ones or you can upload your own image.

      7. You can change the settings of the text element and use Dynamic Attributes to draw more attention.

      Dynamic Attributes

Dynamic Attributes drive interest in products and encourage purchases by displaying how often a product is viewed, purchased, or put into a cart.

You can use the following Dynamic Attributes on your Social Proof campaigns:

      • Daily View: Display the number of users who have viewed the respective product on that day.
      • Instant View: Display the number of users who are viewing the respective product at that time.
      • DailyPurchase: Display the number of users who have purchased the respective product on that day.
      • Instant Purchase: Display the number of users who have purchased the respective product at that time (within a 15-min period).
      • inBasketCount: Display the number of users who have the respective product in their carts.
      • Last Purchase: Display the last time the respective product was purchased.

Social Proof only collects data if there is an active campaign. Test campaigns only collect data when you are actively testing the campaign.

      8. You can customize the Style of the Close Button.

      Dynamic Attribute Settings

You can configure the settings of the dynamic attribute that you defined in the Text element.

      Minimum Value

You can define a minimum value that a given Dynamic Attribute must reach before Social Proof is displayed on your products. For example, if the minimum value is 3, Social Proof will not be displayed to any user until the value of that attribute reaches 3.

      Dynamic Variable Random Values

This feature enables you to set a range, and Social Proof will add a number within that range to the original value. For example, if your range is 10-30 and the original value is 47, Social Proof will display a value between 57 (47 + 10) and 77 (47 + 30).

      Multiply Original Number

You can multiply the original value by 1-10. For example, if the original value is 38 and you select 4, this setting will multiple that original value (38) by 4, displaying 152 on Social Proof. If you select 1 for your multiplier, this setting will show the original value on Social Proof (e.g. 38 x 1 = 38).

      Add to Original Number

This feature enables you to add any value you specify to the original number. For example, if the original value is 59 and the value you would like to add is 25, the value that will be displayed on the Social Proof will be 84.

      9. After you finalize your design and save your campaign, allocate the traffic for your variations in the Design step.
