    Default Goal Durations

      Article Summary

Default goal durations help you change the re-eligibility durations based on products and templates.

This feature is designed to minimize the reporting differences between InOne and Google Analytics. Various factors (e.g. different session and impression definitions, loading time of Google Analytics and Insider tag, etc.) might cause such differences.

The default re-eligibility duration is 14 days.

With different goal durations, you can evaluate the performance of your campaigns in a more effective way as not all campaigns should have the same conditions. You can use the default goal durations to configure default re-eligibility durations for different products.

For example, a social proof campaign and an Instory campaign have different lengths of effectivity. While the social proof campaigns can have a 1-day re-eligibility duration, goal duration, re-eligibility duration after a click, and re-eligibility duration after a close given its purpose, the Instory campaigns can have a 3-day or session-based duration for all.

      Social Proof1 day
      InStory3 days OR session-based

You can also determine the re-eligibility duration of templates. For example, while a hello bar campaign can have a 1-day re-eligibility duration, goal duration, re-eligibility duration after a click, and re-eligibility duration after a close, a purchase progress campaign can have a 3-day or session-based duration for all.

Session-based duration enables you to set the user's goal duration (re-eligibility duration) as equal to the session definition of Google Analytics. If the session ends, this user can still see the campaign, yet their actions will not be counted as a goal conversion.

      Customize The Goal Durations

The default goal durations can be adjusted on product, template and campaign levels.
