    Architect Channel: App Push

      Article Summary

App push notifications are messages that consist of titles, texts, and images. App push enables you to communicate brief yet important alerts to your users. You can send app pushes even if your users are not currently active on the app or using their device.

App push notifications are a great opportunity for your communication strategy to send time-sensitive and essential messages to engage users to drive them towards your desired actions.

      How does it work?

Before sending an app push notification, the system checks if a user is reachable on the app push channel. If they are reachable, they receive the notification.

In case they are not reachable, they will drop from the journey. Reachability function checks user’s app push opt-in, app push token and GDPR opt-in.

If your company obtains your users' consent in compliance with the local regulations, make sure to pass the GDPR opt-in field to Insider. If you want to stop collecting and processing the data of an identified user, GDPR opt-in field should have the false value. Insider cannot be held liable if these obligations are not fulfilled and reserves the right to seek compensation from your company.

Users can allow or block the app push notification on their device settings for each app they have on their device.

The system does not attempt to send an app push to the user:
      - If they do not have an app push token,
      - If they uninstall the app,
      - If they do not allow the notifications and their app push opt-in is false,
      - If their gdpr_optin is false.

      2. Make sure you have valid certification on mobile app platforms such as IOS, Android, etc. You need to enable and update your certifications on Push Notification Settings.
