    Anatomy of the Template Library


      Article Summary

      The template library is a great tool for you if you want to have a flexible and easy-to-use solution to create a campaign template. When selecting a template to use, you can consider which goal is the most relevant for your campaign. 

      Thanks to the template library, you can

      • Discover all the templates in the first step.
      • Ease the campaign customization process with the new templates.
      • Easily find products/templates based on their objectives, platforms and template placements.
      • Decrease the time you spend for the creation of the template.

      To create a Web campaign,

      1. Navigate to Experience > Optimize > Web Templates.

      2. Click on Web Templates to select your template. You will land on a listing page where you can see the campaigns that you previously created. This is the page on which you will start customizing your campaign.

      How to create a campaign

      1. Click the Create button on the Web Templates listing page.

      2. Campaign creation starts with design followed by the rest of the steps. Name your campaign, and click Next to proceed.

      How to choose a template

      1. You land on Default Templates page where you can view all the templates in the first step in an organized way. Here, you can:

      • select the platform on which you you will create your campaign.
      • search for the template.
      • view templates based on your objectives.
      • see whether the template is on page or inline.
      • see elements available for the template once you click on a template in the drawer menu.
      • view templates you saved before under Custom templates.

      2. When you make a selection, you can see the objective of the template together with its description. You can see the elements available for the template as well.

      Choose the template you wish to use in your campaign, choose the platform and proceed. 

      How to design your template

      1. You can see how your template looks like on your website on the platform you have chosen in the Preview mode of Action Builder. You can use Navigate Mode to move on your website to see the template or append it if it is inline. You can also change its Position.

      2. In the Design step, customize your template. If you choose the responsive platform, you can sync your platforms to apply the changes to all of them. You can also save your template to use your customization later; it will be listed under Custom Templates on the Template Library page. Click Save and continue your campaign creation.

      3. After you are done with your design, allocate the traffic to show your variant to your users. You can add another variant as well. If you add a new variant, you will see the ones in line with the previous one you have added. For example, if you added a Lead Collection template, when you add a new variant, you will see Lead Collection templates listed and make a choice. Click Save and Continue to proceed.

      How to segment users

      You can select users to show your campaign in the Segments step. If you make no choice, then all users will be targeted. Click Save and Continue to proceed.

      How to set rules for your campaign

      To start showing your campaign to your users, set the rules in the Rules step. 

      If you want your campaign to be triggered by other campaigns, you can check Enable Campaign Trigger box. You can also set Display Time to show your campaign. Click Save and Continue to proceed.

      How to set goals for your campaign

      To track the performance of your campaign, you can set goals in the Goals step. 

      You can also configure Goal Durations to configure when a user is assigned with a variant of a campaign, for how long conversions are logged for a campaign when a user will see a campaign after they join or close it. Click Save and Continue to proceed.

      How to launch your campaign

      In the Launch step of your campaign, complete the settings and make your campaign run. You can configure the following settings for you campaign:

      How to generate your panel

      Before testing or launching your campaign, you need to generate your panel. To do so, follow the instructions for Generating InOne

      If you do not generate your panel, no changes will be applied to your campaigns.

      How to test your campaign

      Before launching your campaign, we suggest you to test your variant(s) using the Testing a Web Campaign as a guide.
